Even before WW2 ended, relations USA-USSR relations went south. Nazi scientists had to go somewhere; they didn't want to go to the USSR. So many chose USA.
In a sense, the moon landing was the culmination of the Nazi Germany space program.

Nazi scientists did join the US space race, but the moon landing was also powered by decades of broader scientific development and global collaboration that went well beyond that group's contribution
