Yea I think it's probably an issue why the game was lagging a few days ago. The increased number of users even if a ton of them are bots makes it hard for everyone playing battles at the same time.

I actually didnt know that they had bots playing the game! I only found out about them while watching a stream on Twitch and the streamer said that his opponent at the time was most likely a bot.

Yea there are quite a few bots. Sometimes those bots are tough since they field full legendary setups.

Do you know where the game devs stand regarding bots? Are they okay with that or there are plans to come up with strategies to get rid of them?

They are fine with the bots. I haven't heard anything about getting rid of them since it makes the match making process a lot faster.
