This may take a while for a newbie, but try this approach: For what looks like a promising niche, comment in as many posts as possible and see how it turns out:

  • If it looks iffy, move on to another niche.
  • If it looks as promising as expected, the comments will flow regardless of knowledge level. This may be a sign that the newbie can grow into the niche to eventually become the go-to expert on the topic.

If the niche seems to broad (such as "crypto"), try narrowing it to something more specific (such as "crypto used locally in my area"). The idea is for each of us to be considered "experts" in whatever it is we do. After all, someone had to become an expert at wrangling snakes before being called upon to assist in the filming of Snakes on a Plane. Same with blogging here.
