How does an AI agent browse the web?
This is a question that will shape advertising efforts for future markets.
I have been spending a lot of hours browsing and reading various AI development news daily and I can confirm that this technology will be taking over most digital operations in a few years.
Recently, OpenAI launched an agentic browser — ChatGPT Atlas — on macOS. The browser has ChatGPT built-in, with agents that can carry out various tasks across the web as you browse.
With Atlas, ChatGPT can come with you anywhere across the web—helping you in the window right where you are, understanding what you’re trying to do, and completing tasks for you, all without copying and pasting or leaving the page. Your ChatGPT memory is built in, so conversations can draw on past chats and details to help you get new things done.

This is what the future of browsing the web looks like. There will be less focus and interactions expected from human users and that changes everything.
Digital ads will target AI agents, not humans. Companies will have to go from trying to draw or attract human attention, to designing ad materials that gets prioritized by AI agents.
Ironically, this may lead to cleaner frontends as advertising efforts may focus more on slightly buried texts or more uniquely and cleanly structured texts to get in front of AI agents, ditching most annoying ad types.
Cost-wise, I think one should expect it to cost far less to sell to AI agents, at least, initially. Considering that we'd have millions (probably billions) of these bots running around, the opportunities are quite enormous.
I will probably go deeper into researching potential impacts of having digital ads target AI agents and not humans. I think there will be a lot to unpack when we get down to carefully looking at the data.
Till then, maybe we can conclude that one really good thing from the AI takeover will be not having to deal with ads personally. Taking the emotions out of purchases and what we click to view can potentially cause an improvement to what and how businesses sell.

AI is helping to settle a lot of digital stress. This is what I keep on saying, the internet was not meant for humans. I guess the right tools to handle such presence are here and what is it for humans, well, we can leverage them as order boys or better put, 'order bots'
