While some of us wait for artificial general intelligence (AGI) and artificial superintelligence (ASI), OpenAI is looking like it's more and more on the path to delivering an everything app.
I don't know what the history of concept of an everything app is, but I know that Elon Musk has, in recent years, talked a lot about making X(formerly Twitter) an everything app.
A lot of people have talked about why it won't work while some share some enthusiasm for it all. Personally, I think it's going to happen, not just with Elon Musk.
There are signs of these things, people just need help seeing it.
However, I feel like if you asked me 5 years back what I thought about an everything app being built and it being successful, I would have probably said that it would fail, but now that AI is in the picture, I sort of see how this might actually happen.
OpenAI has recently announced launching a groupchat feature in ChatGPT, I think way back (before I became interested in writing about AI), I came across some reports on OpenAI's plans to launch its own social platform.
If this is true—which recent developments strongly supports the possibility of a full-fledged social platform—then I'd say that the goal here seems to be delivering an "everything app."
Today, we’re beginning to pilot a new experience in a few regions that makes it easy for people to collaborate with each other—and with ChatGPT—in the same conversation. With group chats, you can bring friends, family, or coworkers into a shared space to plan, make decisions, or work through ideas together.
Whether you’re organizing a group dinner or drafting an outline with coworkers, ChatGPT can help.

ChatGPT: An Everything App
What does an everything app look like?
Before I go into that. I think it's worth mentioning that some people are predicting that niche-AI companies are going to have their businesses threatened by players like OpenAI eventually, specifically as these companies optimize their models to solve those niche problems effectively.
I think that there are some truth to this, but rather than having ChatGPT replace everything else, ChatGPT will become a channel to everything else, as will Gemini, Grok, and potentially Meta AI.
If you log into ChatGPT today, you'll find numerous third-party AI solutions (basically customized versions of ChatGPT) featured within the app.
From there, within ChatGPT, you can access numerous niche-AI services and create whatever you want.
Usually when people thought of an "everything app" they thought it was about one company doing all the building and shipping, but I think it will mostly really about one company owning the platform (the channel) where several solutions/apps (mini apps) run within, sharing revenue with the parent application.
It is an interesting future to look forward to, to be honest. I think that the part where these giant platforms housing several mini apps can earn the name the "everything app" will be on how well they can blend it all into an interface where users will not need to browse through numerous services to access specific solutions.
People will not want to browse through several hundreds of video creation GPTs to find the best for their needs, so ChatGPT will have to be able to save users the time and connect them with the appropriate services at every given time.
This is why I said that I can say now, that we have AI, that it will indeed to possible to build an everything app because that's just what's needed to be able to jump through several applications and solve users needs in seconds.
What is also worth pointing out is that if this is the future companies like OpenAI is building towards, then their developments will focus on serving builders and not users, potentially making it easier for them to reach profitability.
This is because cost can potentially be pushed onto mini apps developers, while revenue is shared with OpenAI.

I wouldn't argue much about this. I mean the potentials are there; whether they choose to collaborate with other business or head on directly, they will be able to get users attention
