It's been a while for me since I saw anime on TV, but for me it was Season 2 of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

The movie starring Scarlet Johansson? Although I like her, the movie wasn't much to talk about. Stick with the anime-- it's superior. Even the anime movie from the 1990s is superior.
