France has relied for many years in nuclear energy for its electricity generation, and, because of this, it has been better positioned for the current European energy crisis. However, a series of maintenance issues of France’s aging reactors, issues at the energy group EDF and a lack of significant new investments are causing the reactors to decrease their electricity output.

So, instead of exporting energy to their struggling neighbors, France will likely face rolling blackouts and expensive energy imports.
