I like this old say.
Another one I know is "what you give, is yours forever. What you keep, is lost forever". It took me years to get a perspective on this motto, but what I came out so far, is that the more you give, the more people will be in touch with your actions and benevolence and the more it will be spread around.
Similar to "you will never be dead in the mind of people"
