First quarter of 2022 was a blast, a day in crypto really does feel like a month in real life. Bitcoin is as bullish as ever, for the first time in history, Bitcoin is in the news for reasons other than price actions and being banned, Bitcoin has been heralding freedom in every news media appearance this year starting from the truckers in Canada to victims of the war in Russia and Ukraine.
For most who were familiar with the Canadian truckers freedom convoy protests, we can remember how the government froze bank accounts of people who supported the protest and protesters, we saw how the government stepped in to block out every means of being funded through services like gofundme.
However, people resulted to using Bitcoin, to fund the protesters. It was a monumental period in our existence, that for the first time, the masses have a tool that is bereft of the corrupted legacy practices and gives people back their freedom.
International payment giants Visa, Mastercard and American Express promptly halted their services after the imposition of sanctions. Visa, for example, announced the interruption of all its transactions and warned that cards issued in Russia would no longer work abroad.
Payment platform PayPal has also shut down its services.
Again, as a result of sanction against Russia by the West, western financial service providers which are the most commonly used financial service providers were made to close up shop in Russia leaving many customers stranded. Many citizens in Russia had to turn to Bitcoin and other cryptos.
Ukraine on the other hand has received millions of dollars in donation in Bitcoin and several cryptos.which have been directed towards several types of relief projects as the war persists, Ukraine even went ahead to legalize Bitcoin.
Bitcoin, more than ever is been seen as a financial tool that gives people true economic freedom unlike fiat that is controlled by governments. As a proponent of freedom, It will be pretty easy to find Bitcoin appealing.
In terms of price,
The price of Bitcoin is where it was at the beginning of the year and has been ranging inbetween. Talks of Bull market are engulfing the sphere, but I still think it’s too early to say. A lot of the price actions we’ve been getting have been largely influenced by known factors such as Do Kwon of Terra buying billions of dollars worth of Bitcoin as reserve for UST.
....but we can also agree that it can be a huge catalyst that will begin to send the price of Bitcoin flying.
Bitcoin has really come a long way. Back in the days, you Google Bitcoin and the first 3 pages are about scams and how to not get scammed in Bitcoin, speaking from personal experience , now It’s an entirely different ball game. Countries have started to adopt Bitcoin.

I very much feel so too. This time last year, we were already preparing for a bull run, the signs were already everywhere, this year is even more interesting, Bitcoin has been in the spotlight for good reasons. We might see very interesting price movements in the coming weeks
