I came across this tweet while scrolling through my timeline this morning and I resonate with it because I’d had a similar thought earlier. It is no coincidence that there is more than an ounce of truth to this tweet. Why should anyone hire from Twitter over Harvard? Let’s think about it.
In my opinion, I have the perception that people present a more genuine part of themselves on Twitter compared to how they are in their various institutions where there is a lot of pressure, I know that when I was in school I used places like Twitter as an escape, not necessarily to socialize, but as a window into what was going on in the world generally, my personality then in school and on Twitter at the time where totally different personalities.
People are able to create the personas they embody and more often than not, the most dominant personalities come out on social media especially for those using their real identities. So as an employer, will it interest me to see what my potential employee escapes to? mode of reasoning beyond the scope of professionalism, political stance.....
.......of course they may or may not contribute to the employability of the individual, but it is an interesting window into the type of person you’re about to onboard. I reserve the rights to be wrong no doubt, but in this age of Big data, I think we are inevitably entering the phase where online identities will replace Traditional credentials
An active Twitter account will more likely reveal more than a CV would, people naturally tend to prove their skill and character on Twitter in real time through their interactions and contributions, just like the tweet went further on to say...
At this point of my life, I’m better off presenting my Hive blog account link as my Credential than an actual CV, I’m mistakili, I’m a serial writer, I write about the coolest Blockchain technology and decentralized ecosystems, then you go into my blog, I can guarantee the employer will sleep there, wake up and still not be done after being exhausted from flouring from amusement all the way......
Do you need personality? Is it the creativity? The consistency? The accuracy? The foresightedness? The timeliness? Passion? Mistakes? Realness? The entire journey, well most of it, It’s all there, in the immutable blockchain, this is why I’m better off presenting my Hive blog than a Twitter account or CV....
I’m more of myself on Hive than I am on Twitter, there’s something about being able to fully express my thoughts in my space without the fear that my account can be deleted at anytime as soon as I have an alternative perspective to what Twitter wants,...
I read my tweets from years back and I’m like eww, I didn’t write that, but I read my blogs from years back and I’m like, damn who wrote this!
The shift is inevitable, online Identities will take over traditional credentials , and while some might stick with the old ways of CV, those that are quick to adapt to the new ways of the online Identities approach will perhaps see more productivity down the line.

To be honest same applies with me, am more at home here on Hive than on Twitter. And am only on Twitter because of Hive.
