One of the best deals that can be found in crypto at the moment is right on Hive, and I’m not even talking about the new shiny kid on the block, SPS tokens, no, I’m talking about the Splintertalk tokens. Much like every other Splinterlands asset, the SPT tokens have performed jaw droppingly well this past few days and ofcourse a lot of it is attributed to the SPS token airdrops but not everyone knows the true potential of the tokens.
The SPT token is the voting/reward token for the Splinterlands blogging community, Splintertalk.io players use the SPT token to reward contents on the blogging platform similar to Hive.
But with the introduction of the SPS token, the SPT’s utility just got a bump up, holders of the SPT token are eligible to receive part of the SPS airdrop as it also counts as an in game asset, just like every other asset within the Splinterlands game. The interesting thing about this is that, it’s not just a token to hold while anticipating the airdrop, you can put it to work by powering it up and curating posts on the blogging platform and stack up curation rewards.
Flat reward curve
The token economic model runs on a flat reward curve, so you get half of your upvote worth back, just like the Leofinance and Hive blogging platforms. So while a lot of people are just holding their SPT tokens to get the airdrop, they can also be curating all year long. As the curation rewards are stacking, they are also gaining more points for the airdrop which increases the amount of SPS tokens they get from the airdrop.
Compounding interest
So, in the case where the holder continues to stake the SPT tokens to increase curating power, the amount of SPS airdropped will also keep increasing, so the person will be making money while making money while making money. At least this is what I’m doing presently. I currently have about 50k SPT tokens I’m using to curate posts and earning more SPT from.
The accumulation of the SPT tokens will increase my points for the SPS tokens airdrop giving me more SPS tokens, recycling this pattern for the year will definitely put my portfolio in a better position than it is at this moment. Interestingly I’m not even the only one who knows about this, you can tell from the SPT chart below.
The price of SPT tokens briefly touched 0.03$ levels all the way from 0.001$. Not bad at all if you’d ask me, a lot of people probably haven’t realized this and no one is to blame because Splinterlands itself is becoming very large, it’s hard to know everything all at once. I suspect that when more people figure this out, the token price won’t stay the same. So you might want to grab it while it’s still cheap.

Does monstercurator give you rewards in hive or Spt tokens? If at all you have spt tokens you should be able to see them in your hive engine wallet
