New Data Center to House Approximately 73,000 of Marathon’s Bitcoin Miners, Transitioning the Company’s Mining Operations to 70% Carbon Neutral
This post isn’t even a week old and we are already seeing new implementations of mining strategy being applied to Bitcoin mining that actually reduces its rate of carbon emissions.
Marathon is a digital asset technology company that mines cryptocurrencies with a focus on the blockchain ecosystem and the generation of digital assets. It is one of the largest enterprise Bitcoin mining in North America. Implementation is planned to take place in stages between October 2021 and March 2022.
“Once all our miners are deployed by the end of the first quarter of 2022, our hashrate will be 10.37 EH/s, and our operations will be 70% carbon neutral, with our long-term objective being to obtain a 100% carbon neutral footprint.”
There you have it Elon, Bitcoin has won, again.
China in all their brilliance and tech expertise could not device means to mine Bitcoin efficiently but will rather go the draconian ways to outright ban it. It only goes to show how much the Chinese govt have only been tolerating it all along, I mean, the word Bitcoin and Ban in China has become quite common over the years.
This is just one out of the many solutions that can be adapted to mining Bitcoin in an environmental friendly manner. This is just one company coming out to state their claims and plans to reduce Bitcoin mining carbon footprint by 100%. Others are likely to follow suit, mining concentration in China is dissolved and Bitcoin wins.
