Doubling Down When the Pressure is On 🚀

in LeoFinance4 days ago

Hello hello Hive fam it's @tengolotodo writing today for @mmonline.

Crypto is in freefall and HIVE is no different.

Bitcoin is trading around 107k and I shudder to think what will happen when it hits 99k!!!

No matter what happens with $HIVE and $LEO I believe in doubling down my efforts.

I ain't going anywhere any time soon, so it got me thinking!

When you feel the weight of expectation, stress or even fear then the natural reaction is often to pull back or to slow down or just to plain play it safe.

But why follow the crowd!!

Many successful individuals and businesses follow a counter-intuitive strategy ... this is called doubling down on their efforts, on their focus, and on their core principles when they feel under pressure.

This isn't about blind arrogance!

it's a strategic, decisive response that transforms stress into momentum.

For example, doubling down now on Hive, could bring greater rewards. Not only are you showing you are here for the longterm, you will be publishing consistently!

The bottom line is that doubling down can be the key to overcoming obstacles.

Blackjack to the rescue

The concept of "doubling down" originates in blackjack. A player sees a favourable hand and increases the original bet. they double down (they double their bet)!

Psychologically, feeling pressure is often a sign that you are close to a significant outcome. and it could be a major win or a potential loss.

Instead of interpreting pressure as a threat, the "doubling down" mindset re-frames it as an opportunity where increased effort will yield a disproportionately large reward. Get dealt 11 in your opening hand ... then fluffing double down!

4 examples of where to Double Down as an Entrepeneur

- Product Sales ~ Double Down on Quality & Niche
If your sales are slow then don't make the mistake of trying to sell everything. So create more high-quality products in your current best-selling niche (e.g., more seamless patterns or a dedicated crochet planner if you are into selling digital products). This reinforces your brand identity and expertise.

- Creative Slump Double Down on Fundamental Skills
When struggling for new ideas then get back to your basics. Spend an extra hour drawing, testing colour palettes, or simply doing research. I find research works wonders. So yeah go spy on your competitors!

- Time Management Double Down on Ruthless Prioritisation
When you are overwhelmed and forever running out of time, then cut out all low-value tasks. Focus your working hours exclusively on the one task that will move your goal forward the furthest (e.g., getting a new product listed, rather than endlessly tweaking old ones).

- Customer Feedback Double Down on Listening
If you receive negative feedback or criticism, don't hide from this. Respond quickly and listen intently. Do not go on the defensive, but use the critique to immediately improve a key area of your product or service. This turns a weakness into a visible strength.

We transform distress into eustress! Yes yes yes. It's quite challenging sometimes. Let's support one another at this. This is what I'm about in everything in my life right now. When you speak to the psychology of it, I feel that super... Doubling down on my staunch stance on personal ethics. I will not fold under the pressure of the passive aggressive controlling tactics being thrown at me. Goodness.... But it is difficult. You give some great examples of how to double down as an entrepreneur. It would be a real boon to me, to hear your thoughts and be inspired around doubling down in this way, when it comes to interpersonal ethical and moral stances. I'm getting close to being able to extract myself fully from an unhealthy dynamic... But for a few more days, hopefully not longer, I'm sort of stuck here.

What a wonderful comment! Eustress yes yes, not heard that for ages! I am also tempted to write a follow up post about this on a personal ethical and moral level.
It is certainly difficult to stay resolute when facing passive-aggressive and controlling tactics, especially when you feel stuck.
For me I find any form of negativity is an automatic non-starter and I remove myself from these situations, this even extends to family members. In this respect I feel and find that Passive aggression is purely negative...

Doubling down on your personal ethics right now is a powerful act of self-respect. The best move is to refuse to engage and keep holding your moral stance. But be prepared to walk away or remove yourself from that unhealthy dynamic, which you say is for a few more days. I have quite a few thoughts about this swirling through my head, so I will put them down as a post.

You can and will do it, I am supporting you.

It's today! Thank you so much for responding. I have stupid my ground pretty well and I'm getting out of this place today. Now. I'm hoping to be able to save one of "their" dogs with me, and the other and her puppies, I will unfortunately not be able to. God bless them; I hope they will survive.

Aww it is today, that seems quicker than I thought. Okay please stay safe and I will be looking for you.

And I look forward very much to reading your next post. When I've had time to process this experience, I will document what I am learning as well.

Things have run away from me today, so I doubt I will get it posted until Sunday. Yes document things and I am keeping my fingers crossed it all goes well...
