A Great Option for Dealing Damage and Defending in Battles

Today I'm going to talk about the Chuma Marandu card in Splinterlands, so join me on this brief journey of knowledge.

Currently, one of my goals in the game is to get the cards from the new Reward Set and evolve them. To do this, I need to play ranked battles to earn Glint and buy Rarity Draws or Loot Chests in the Glint Shop.

I have the option to buy the new Reward Set cards on the market, but for now my goal is just to earn them using Glint. Transforming Reward Cards into tradable cards is easier now, so later I'll buy Scrolls because I like having tradable assets in the game.

Chuma Marandu is a legendary card from the new Reward Set and it belongs to the dragon deck. This is one of the cards I want to have in my collection because I love melee cards that deal a lot of damage, and Chuma Marandu is a great option for that.

Now let's look at Chuma Marandu's abilities: Sneak, Demoralize, Retaliate and Expose.

Sneak: Targets the enemy unit in the last position.

An important detail about this ability is that it allows Chuma Marandu to attack from any position, which is great news because it doesn't need to be in the first position and be one of the main targets of enemy attacks.

Demoralize: -1 melee power to all enemy units.

An important detail is that the Demoralize ability only remains active in battle while Chuma Marandu is alive. If it is defeated, the Demoralize ability loses its effect and enemy monsters regain melee attack power.

I love using debuffs in my battles, and the Demoralize ability is one of my favorites, especially in battles where only monsters with melee attacks are allowed.

Retaliate: 50% chance to counterattack successful melee attacks, even if defeated.

This ability is a great way for Chuma Marandu to deal even more damage during battle.

Expose: 80% chance to remove Forcefield, Lookout, Deflect, Shield, Void, Void Armor, or Immunity after a successful attack. Expose will always remove Immunity first.

This is a great ability to reduce the advantages of enemy monsters.

In short, Chuma Marandu is a great option for dealing damage and also for defense since it has a good amount of health and armor. The only disadvantage of Chuma Marandu is its high mana cost.

Now let's get to know Chuma Marandu on the battlefield.

Watch The Battle

In the battle, I used Chuma Marandu in the second position because I didn't want it to be the main target of attacks at the beginning of the battle. I also wanted it to target the enemy monster positioned in the last position, so the second position was perfect for it.

To further help Chuma Marandu deal damage in the battle, I chose the summoner Akane from the dragon deck, and she was a good choice because she grants the Ambush ability to 2 allied monsters.

Ambush: Takes an extra turn prior to the first round of battle.

In this battle, Chuma Marandu showed that it's a great choice for dealing damage and for defense as well.

Now I'll talk about the Arcade Colony platform. On it, you'll find the games: Splinterlands, Moon Karts, StakeHouse Den and Genesis League Goals.

For those unfamiliar with Arcade Colony, it's owned by Invennium Corp. Arcade Colony is a platform for arcades and video games with a functional economy based on a governance token, "COLONY", and a product-backed stablecoin called "SCRIPT".

Invennium Corp. is a 100% subsidiary of Splinterlands.
