A Powerful Defense with a High Mana Cost

Today I'm going to talk about the Arkemis the Bear card in Splinterlands, so join me on this brief journey of knowledge.

My current focus in the game is building a card collection, and the Chaos Legion edition is one of my favorites because it has great cards and is inexpensive. I also like this edition because it was being released when I started my journey in Splinterlands.

Arkemis the Bear is a neutral deck card and costs 12 mana to use in battles. Unfortunately, this is a high mana cost, but Arkemis the Bear is a great card, so it's worth every penny spent.

To begin, Arkemis the Bear has a good amount of health, so it won't be easily defeated in battles, and its attack is also powerful, which is great news because it will deal a lot of damage, but its speed is low.

Now let's talk about Arkemis the Bear abilities, which are: Protect, Halving, Forcefield, and Enrage.

Protect: +2 armor to all allied units.

I love this ability because it's an extra help for my monsters to protect themselves from melee and ranged attacks.

Halving: -50% to target's power (rounded down) after a successful attack.

Weakening enemy monsters is a great strategy, and Halving is a great ability for that.

Forcefield: Attacks dealing 5 base damage or more instead of dealing 1 damage.

This is a great defense against powerful monsters that deal a lot of damage.

Enrage: +50% melee power and speed (rounded up) if not at full health.

Arkemis the Bear's speed may be low, but with this ability it becomes even better, and Arkemis the Bear also deals more damage.

Now it's time for Arkemis the Bear to go into battle.

Watch The Battle

The battle rules greatly influence the choice of cards for battle, and in this case there's the Up Close & Personal rule, so using Arkemis the Bear is a great choice because the Protect ability will be very useful.

Up Close & Personal: Under this rule, players can only use monsters with melee attacks in battle.

In the battle, I combined several melee monsters that would be useful, but the main choice was the summoner Bella Ratajowlski because she will grant the Shield ability and the Deflect ability to my monsters, and these are very useful abilities to protect against melee monsters.

Now I'll talk about the Arcade Colony platform. On it, you'll find the games: Splinterlands, Moon Karts, StakeHouse Den, and Genesis League Goals.

For those unfamiliar with Arcade Colony, it's owned by Invennium Corp. Arcade Colony is a platform for arcades and video games with a functional economy based on a governance token, "COLONY", and a product-backed stablecoin called "SCRIPT".

Invennium Corp. is a 100% subsidiary of Splinterlands.
