Today I'm going to talk about the Lord of Darkness card, so join me on this brief journey of knowledge.
Recently I've been feeling nostalgic about cards from older Splinterlands editions and I'm creating posts about my favorite cards from the past.

The Lord of Darkness is a legendary card that belongs to the Death deck, and in the past it was my favorite choice for defending in the first position in that deck.
Currently there are many powerful new cards in Splinterlands, but the Lord of Darkness is still a great option because it doesn't cost much mana and has a great amount of attack, health, and armor. This means that the Lord of Darkness will be a great source of damage and defense in battle.
The Lord of Darkness has 4 abilities: Enrage, Stun, Shield, and Retaliate.

Enrage: +50% melee power and speed (rounded up) if not at full health.
This ability will help the Lord of Darkness deal even more damage in battle and also improve attack speed.

Stun: 50% chance to apply Stunned for one round after a successful attack. Stunned units skip their turn and cannot Retaliate.
This ability can make a big difference in battle depending on the target and your luck.

Shield: 50% less damage (rounded up) from physical attacks or 0 damage from physical attacks of 1 power.
This ability is a great ally when the Lord of Darkness takes damage from melee and ranged attacks.

Retaliate: 50% chance to counterattack successful melee attacks, even if defeated.
Another ability to help the Lord of Darkness deal even more damage in battle.
With this combination of stats and the Lord of Darkness's abilities, he will be a great ally in battle, and I will demonstrate this in a battle.

Watch The Battle
Choosing the Lord of Darkness for the battle was a great decision because it dealt a lot of damage and was also a great defense since the Up Close & Personal rule existed.

Up Close & Personal: This rule allows players to only use monsters with melee attacks.
With this rule in place, the Lord of Darkness's Shield ability became very useful for defense, and after 4 rounds I was victorious and my Lord of Darkness had full health.

Now I'll talk about the Arcade Colony platform. On it, you'll find the games: Splinterlands, Moon Karts, StakeHouse Den, and Genesis League Goals.
For those unfamiliar with Arcade Colony, it's owned by Invennium Corp. Arcade Colony is a platform for arcades and video games with a functional economy based on a governance token, "COLONY", and a product-backed stablecoin called "SCRIPT".
Invennium Corp. is a 100% subsidiary of Splinterlands.
