Today I'm going to open my first Foundation packs in Splinterlands, so join me on this fun and brief journey of learning about the game.
In some of my posts I mentioned that my current focus in Splinterlands is on the Wild and Frontier formats. I chose these two formats because I like the Chaos Legion edition and it can't be used in the Modern format. I also chose the Frontier format because I find it fun since the cards are simple and I can get tradeable cards in this format.
To learn more about the Frontier format, I recommend my post: Explaining How the Frontier Format Works in Splinterlands.
Currently there are only two ways to get Foundation packs in Splinterlands and they are:

Buying the packs on the market, the current value of the pack is $0.14 and you can pay with DEC or Credits.

Getting the packs in Frontier mode, but you only receive packs in the Gold League.
In the post I recommended above, you'll discover more about the rewards for the Frontier format in Splinterlands.
In my current league in the Frontier format, I can get up to 6 Foundation cards per day. Soon I want to reach the Gold league and finally get the Foundation packs to get more cards and level up my current Foundation cards because reaching the Gold league in this format isn't very easy.
I don't yet have all the Foundation cards in the game, so I want to buy packs to get more cards and evolve my current ones.
To get Foundation cards, I have the option of buying packs or buying the cards on the market. The best decision is probably to buy the cards on the market, but I like opening packs in the game because I might get lucky and get great cards, and for that reason I decided to buy 5 Foundation packs.

I'm going to use the DEC option because I already have it in my account, and to buy 5 Foundation packs I'll spend a total of 1177 DEC.
Currently, the Foundation pack is the cheapest in Splinterlands, but if your focus is playing other formats, then I recommend the other packs because the Foundation cards aren't very powerful, but they're a great way to start a card collection in Splinterlands.

To open the packs, you need to go to the OPEN option in Splinterlands, and there you can open all the packs you own, including Soulkeep packs.
Remember that you can use Alchemy potions and Legendary potions when opening packs.
Alchemy Potion: This potion increases your chances of getting Gold Foil cards in packs.
Legendary Potion: This potion increases your chances of getting Legendary cards in packs.
Each pack in Splinterlands gives the player 5 cards, so in the 5 Foundation packs I will get 25 cards, which means I will need 25 Alchemy potions and 25 Legendary potions.

These are the cards I got from opening all 25 Foundation packs, and I consider myself lucky because I got some cards I didn't have before, and the total value of the cards is higher than what I paid for the packs.

I spent $0.72 on the 5 Foundation packs, and the total value of the cards I received in the pack was $0.97, so opening the packs was the right decision today.
Unfortunately, I didn't get any Gold Foil or Legendary cards, but I'm happy with this result, and these cards will help me reach higher leagues in the Frontier format.
My goal is to reach the Gold League by the end of this month.

Now I'll talk about the Arcade Colony platform. On it, you'll find the games: Splinterlands, Moon Karts, StakeHouse Den and Genesis League Goals.
For those unfamiliar with Arcade Colony, it's owned by Invennium Corp. Arcade Colony is a platform for arcades and video games with a functional economy based on a governance token, "COLONY", and a product-backed stablecoin called "SCRIPT".
Invennium Corp. is a 100% subsidiary of Splinterlands.
