The Lux Vega sale will take place next week and we might see DEC reconquer its peg because of it. On top of that, the Replace DEC LP Rewards With SPS proposal just passed creating even more upward pressure on the price of DEC.
Most of the buying already took place since the whales already bought the DEC that they will be needing for the sale when it was at a bigger discount, we might see the price crash back down after the sale but I believe that this big push upward will make players hopeful for a repeg and stop the dumping.
This whole FTX incident couldn't come at a worse time, DEC was going strong but we're seeing a big pullback on the entire market because of it.
DEC is the tide that lifts all boats, if we manage to get DEC back to peg we would see a ton of benefits all around the splinterlands ecosystem.
Card prices
The purchasing power around the entire playing community will increase since cards will be "cheaper" to buy in DEC terms. Hence increasing the demand and the general prices of all cards by consequence.
Rental prices
If the card prices increase so will the rental prices since most players seek to make a return on the rental market relative to the price they paid for the card. Most players will start increasing the prices since the asset they are renting is now more valuable.
SPS price
DEC back to peg would be great for SPS, it could finally create an incentive for players to burn SPS in order to get DEC. For this incentive to kick in DEC would have to go slightly above peg but with the growing scarcity of DEC it could start happening more often than expected. Especially once we see the crypto market turn around.
