I gotta say, with how bad the precedent with TornadoCash is, at the least its good to see some ungovernable activity again.
Sending ETH from Tornado to known wallets is actually refreshing. It feels like the industry has been missing any meaning the last couple years. Can we just take a moment to realize the art of that action? It proves the laws are unenforceable and would affect innocent people. It proves that the law could be weaponized. Don't like somebody, send them some ETH using Tornado Cash.
Its actually frightening the more you think about the direction we all know we are headed. . We need to make our voices heard about how dangerous such a precedent is. At the very least we need to realize how big of deal that sanction is.
It is illegal to do illegal things. We can never get to a point where the potential for illegal activities becomes illegal. If J-walking is illegal, we can not ban everybody from being near a road because they might J-walk.
Privacy is not a crime. Criminals may use privacy in their crimes, but it does not mean we should ban privacy or even privacy tools because of how somebody MIGHT use it!
