Lol, I think it´s more a case of not trusting in science and what science proves to be the most plausible option than a mental disorder, however the people on the left side of the bell curve truly believing that fiat is the better option might actually suffer from a mental disorder.
For me it was the simplest way too show how most people adopt a new idea over time
