RE: Splinterlands | The Current Game & Economy in Numbers

Demand at least when it comes down to Chaos Legion & Reward cards which continues to push the prices down and I would not be surprised to see prices going even lower compared to where they are right now. On the bright side, this makes the game more affordable again for newer players.

I think that this part is actually a positive for the long term health of the game as it allows the new players to get involved where they were seeing crazy prices in the summer time.

There is still a slight growth in activity and over time the new players and land will soak up the supply of cards form the market.

It healthier long term even if we are losing some players right now that expected crazy returns when they jumped in. This feels more sustainable and steady for growth. The team should have plenty funds form the chaos legion sale so there should be no worries for the next couple of years.

The situation is somewhat of a paradox, the only reason the number of users exploded is because the prices went up due to the fact that there was no supply after untamed god sold out as nobody wanted to sell to get the SPS Airdrop. The positive feeback loop and fomo was crazy, now that it has become affordable again nobody really seems interested to get it. Marketing itself imo also doesn't do anything.

If for sure was a net positive but to get another adoption cycle, imo the same thing needs to happen and as organic growth just isn't big enough. Sure they should be safe with the funds they have for a couple of years but still the expenses will add up.

I still think the game needs a skill mode to attract real gamers who are looking for fun and a challenge, right now the userbase remains mostly crypto people who are looking to make some $$$ putting up with the ridiculous Pay2Win aspect of the game.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

It's amazing how a positive cycle can influence everything.

The player numbers have held quite well but all of the momentum has died off.

DEC dropping back to peg is a big part of this as well.

Hopefully we see the same again when chaos runs out and cards get scarce.

Land should help with this but a skill game would be class. Something to attract players from outside crypto and just want to compete.
