Money Doesn’t Change People — It Exposes Them

in LeoFinance4 days ago

Poverty covers a lot of the real character of a man. Once money arrives, a lot of things will begin to unfold. This may not be true for everyone, but for most people, money changes them; there will be a shift in their mindset, either for good or bad.

Money is powerful; it commands respect. For some people, it makes them look like a mini god to others; the pride that comes with it is another thing, but still, I have still seen wealthy ones with a sense of humility and great attributes to one another. Sometimes, I wish everyone behaved in a way not influenced by money, but is it even possible? I guess not, because humans are endowed with different personalities, so we see things and behave differently because we have different perspectives about life.

I have had experiences with how people are easily changed once their lives turn around financially, both from my close and distant relatives and even from a few friends. It is what it is.

It's interesting how money reveals a person's true nature and even his priorities in life. Some people lie low simply because they haven't seen money, but once money arrives finally, they will begin to exhibit their underlying nature and characters covered by poverty initially.

I have a close relative who suddenly became selfish from the kind heart we knew him for; he has become dishonest, greedy, a cheat, and all manner of bad behaviors I am even ashamed to mention here. It's surprising for real, because for the past years, we have seen this guy as a kindhearted, nice church guy. The way we respected him due to his personality was wonderful, but then, his real self currently simply proved to us that money reveals the true nature of some persons.

Should we blame money or his character? His character, of course. Money is not the problem here; people just need to work on themselves and choose rightly what they want for themselves instead.

The truth is that we can't live without money; we need it, and when we lack money, we begin to pray and work hard for the money to come, but allowing money to control your lifestyle negatively is what is baffling to me. This guy was never a nightclub person, but surprisingly, he now clubs and even brings back ladies to his home while the wife is still there and alive. When she confronts him, he will beat a living hell out of her.

The guy now smokes and gets drunk almost every night after he is done with his business for the day. The wife told me yesterday that she is at a point of developing high blood pressure because she can't place it. This was a man they both were always going to desert for prayers, praying that God should bless them financially. They once fasted for 40 days, asking God to bring money into their home. The guy has demonstrated love and care to her and the children, but suddenly he just changed to a totally different person due to money; it's a concern!

Perhaps we may not truly understand a man until he massively hits money? By then, his true version will emerge, either to remain who he is or be changed into something different entirely?

Money is powerful; it's needed to survive, but it makes sense never to allow it to take total control of how we treat others.

Wealth is a more difficult character test than poverty.

You can say that again

Restating and expanding. In financial literacy, generally speaking, people have two kinds of problems when it comes to money: too little money and too much money. Many can maintain their character when they have too little money but expose their true character when they have too much money.

I fully agree with you. Money doesn't have the power to change us but it give us the power to show what we really are. We don't change after getting money. The reality is we can's show our true side when we don't have the money. Some people may deny to accept it but it won't change the reality.

Exactly ..it gives us the power to show who we truly are ..that's just the reality

It is amazing on how much the Bible speaks about money and how it reveals our true character. Here's video I keep coming back to keep me in perspective, God's perspective. When God blesses I see myself as steward of his blessing for his work on earth.

Yes sis..even the Bible talked more on it
Wow..thanks for this video sis

Let me give it a watch 🤭💞

Money really exposes ones character... It like getting intoxicated and start saying things you wouldn't have normally said. If you become bad due to money.. it has always been on your mind to do those things and if you're good. You have been naturally good at heart..

The example you used of the person you know.. he must have been that good and kind because he was benefitting from the wife and of course conscience will naturally make him reciprocate but once he feels he has made it and feels he no longer needs the wife's consent; after all he's now the provider and can afford whatever he needs.. voom his true colour appears and this applies to literally everyone... If you do not have integrity, with money you can easily be convinced or confused

I.love the word integrity here. That is it...with integrity , a man wouldn't allow money take control of hi
Thanks for your warm feedback 🥰

Money is a powerful tool. It has the ability to bring out the hidden character in a person.

A person might think they are humble presently because they don't control much finance but let a huge sum of money hit them, and you will see the beast in them

For real...a powerful tool
It's surprising how ppl changes due to money
