something happened in my neighborhood recently. A man had high blood pressure for years but ignored treating himself. Suddenly he slumped and had stroke, couldn't breath as well except through oxygen, after some days he died leaving 8 children toto the wife alone. How much attention do you give to

This is why we as clinicians take blood pressure so seriously. It doesn't take much to get it treated, but the toll of ignoring it is very high.

Just yesterday I had a young patient with newly diagnosed high blood pressure who said she's pick up her new medications after the long weekend even though the pharmacy was open and a 2 minute walk away - just because there was a long line. I had to insist she pick it up the same day rather than wait days!

People truly treat their health as if it's disposable, and then years down the line it becomes difficult to treat and return back to how it was. Like a machine, the body requires consistent maintenance to continue to work well.

I agree with you, our body is like a machine that requires consistent maintenance and not living out life as if it has a spare..glad you stepped in for that young patient otherwise she was already playing with her health

Feeling sorry for him and his family. We should take care of our health first because life is a precious thing.

Exactly 💯
