Fun Fact: The "middle class" on Hive is stronger than you think. Orcas with 37M HP and Dolphins with 27M HP. That's more than enough power to pass a proposal for example. If yours isn't approved, the community has spoken. Not just Whales.

Sort:

64 million in total.

What is required for a passing...around 28 million?

Slightly above 27 as of this writing but I could knock it below 27 if I felt like it. 64 million is more than enough. And #20 witness slot is backed by 66.2 million as of this writing.

Thanks for the numbers and pointing out the power that is in the hands in the middle class.

A very important message for governance.

There's a myth saying it's all in the hands of the whales and I think that discourages people from participating. They don't know their own strength. Whales have a lot of stake but are the minority decision makers.

I agree with you. It is something we need to keep spreading and make it known. Also, the power of the numbers, i.e. so many accounts, can increase their accounts on a percentage basis. An account of 1000 can add 25% a lot easier than Blocktrades can add the same percentage.

Yes, 1000 with a buy in of 100HP can turn that into total buy in of 200000HP faster and easier than if 1 attempts to double 100000HP buy in. That's how consumer base would grow. Add in something like content rewards. 1000 earn more than 1.

Interesting figures.....I think the number of dophins will further grow at a faster pace than orcs or whales....

That's mathematically possible. Many variables of course and decentralized as well. Simple numbers as example: 20 could enter that group as 15 walk out. Still growth.
