Fun Fact:"Popular Communities" section on Hive is kind of screwy. LEO at the top with 17000 pending rewards. Third place Pinmapple with 5500 which is lower than what Marky's burn posts alone contribute to LEO's numbers last time I checked.

Sort:

Those are funny numbers. :)

Yeah. Leo Voter contributes a lot to LEO's numbers as well. A centralized community self vote in a sense. Contributes to the illusion of popularity. Hard to call it the most exciting content around but whatever.

Oh, and I agree. Getting votes are not a good measure of the quality of content nor popularity. Financial decisions vs engagement vs quality needs to be balanced.

That's why you put those decisions in more hands. But instead people delegate for easy profit, encourage that behavior, and watch everything else slip away (if they're even looking which in most cases they're not).

Yeah. That's something that people need to be more aware of here on the platform. Hopefully, we get more people to understand how this all affects everyone else considering also that people are here to get rewards too.

It's a losing battle. Even voting power is scarce. Auto votes, so people aren't looking. If they do see something new come along, they don't have the voting power to support it. Also, very few are interested in onboarding supporters.

This is what we have for now so we just have to make the best out of it. :)

That made me check and my guess was confirmed that Vibes is in second place. The gaps in the amounts of pending rewards are huge.

I'm excited to see music taking off, after all these years. A lot of outside exposure as well. Hopefully it brings in some some outside support as well and that number goes up even higher. Hopefully some of the rewards go to supporting it.

Yeah, it's awesome to see the initiative going strong. It's heavily supported by blocktrades and other Hive whales so hopefully the numbers will take off at some point.

It's unfortunate so many have their stake tied up in other things and can't help. What people don't realize is all that added attention on the outside could spill over onto their own, unrelated stuff. Doubles as marketing for Hive.

That's true though. I think most don't realize the overall impact until it happens.

What Hive really needs to compliment all this content is an actual supportive audience. People that came to pay attention rather creating content. Artists can focus on their craft, rewards can go to creating better content, like a new mic

I agree. Things can change drastically if that happens. Maybe if there is a way to reward those who do that (pay attention), then more might do it.

I don't trust any of the stats around here 😂

LOL there's always a catch!
