Stake is, to the best of my knowledge, the total amount of vests that your HP begets you, so, it is related to the HP and not the HIVE value against USD.
BUT, and mind you, this is one hell ofa a butt.
The value of your vote (what rewards you give others when voting for them) is related both to your amount of HP AND the HIVE price expressed in USD.
