Perhaps my English is lacking, but it seems to me that in the text of the post you propose to choose between 3 and 6 month voting cycles, yet the actual voting asks us to choose between 6 and 12.
I think starting with 3 months voting cycle would be better, just to get a feel for how this works. Having a first voting round 6 months from now is really a long way away.
