Good morning hivers, It has been a long time, I have been pre_occupied for the past 3 months with supervision of borehole maintenance in remote places in my home country, Rwanda.

It consisted of rehabilitating existing boreholes to improve supply and purity of water, The removal of old and damaged pumps and removal of other redundant equipments, installation of water purifiers and testing.

The project took over a duration of more than 3 months, where over 100 boreholes were repaired across 4 districts of Rwanda namely Kamonyi, Muhanga, Ruhango and Nyanza.

Residents were without clean water for the past 4 years prior to the maintenance work, They had resorted to rain water mostly which is a not hygienic and is a vector of many water borne diseases which they had fallen prey to.

All expenses incurred during the maintenance period were paid for by the government of Rwanda through local authorities in partnership with Chinese investors.

It has been a good and fruitful relationship between Rwanda and China which has led to enhancement of works which promote the social and economic life of residents of both countries.

The local population was also educated about maintenance of the borehole and various water purification tools were left at their disposal.

This move will in no doubt decrease level of diseases occurring from infectious water and promote hygiene among the citizens.
