The Power of Patient Persistence in Chasing Grand Dreams

in LeoFinance29 days ago

Big dreams are powerful and charming at the same time. They light up the heart's inner flame, visually portraying success, the positive influence, or radical change. However, people usually don’t go all the way to turn those dreams into reality very quickly. Along this journey, people must not only have the vision but also exert almost a father like patience and tenacity. Most people fail in this area not because their dreams are too big but because they do not have the stamina to pass through the drudgery, the waiting time, and the setbacks that occur.

Only those who can maintain their composure and stay devoted the whole long and difficult ascent are the ones that see their dreams come into existence.

Vision is the very beginning, the compass that indicates the way. It is to grasp the unseeable be it setting up an enterprise, perfecting a skill, or fabricating something that has never been done before. However, vision only is similar to a chart with no one aboard. Not only must you have the knowledge of the destination but also the willingness to take the journey, painfully, one step at a time. The Earth is inhabited with those who have big ideas but never go beyond the initial phase of the concept because they fail to recognize how much they have to work to fill the gap between concept and reality.

The grind is the place where dreams get checked. It’s the daily and often non glamorous work of showing up, putting in the necessary time, and doing the small, repetitive tasks that represent progress.

As a writer you need to deal with a blank page day after day. As a business owner you have to deal with breaking down one problem only to find there are more. It is not attractive it is the time for emails, changes, failures, and small enough victories.

This stage divides the dreamers from the men of action. Many people leave the game if the initial excitement disappears, taking the slow pace for failure. But progress is quite rarely linear. It is a zigzag line of striving, adaptation, and keeping up.

Backslides are the test of a burning desire for any great goal. No dream that is worth the effort, ever comes without problems rejecting, money problems, losing belief, and unexpected delays. Such situations test your commitment not only because of that but also your skill to keep calm when things turn out bad. Patience will be your support. It is the discipline to keep going when results are not immediate, i.e. when the world provides no help or acknowledgment of your work. Those who are victories don’t come are not free from difficulties; they become capable to deal with incidents calmly and courageously.

Patience is not a passive waiting time but active endurance. It is to trust the system even if the time felt too long. It is to comprehend that nothing significant can be achieved overnight, in fact, it can take years to come true. Think the stories of the successful people: J.K. Rowling went through a great number of rejections before Harry Potter could find a publisher. Elon Musk hit very close to bankruptcy and skeptical critics, before SpaceX forwarded the revolution of space travel. In fact, their success wasn't simply due to talent or insight but rather their stubbornness to quit when things got tough on the road.

The lack of pace in the journey also calls for a tough mind and emotional strength. Such big dreams tend to isolate the dreamer especially when other people can hardly see any progress. Friends might interpret it wrongly that you're still "doing it". Society mostly supports the concept of a sudden where the long distance the dream seems like a defeat. However, the fact is that most of the "overnight" success stories keep being works in progress for years. The importance of keeping your head cool either when your own doubts grow or when others throw them at you is that it helps you to move ahead. Staying put is about not seeing the summit but the next step.

Finally, the dreamers who achieve the impossible are those who combine the vision and the persistence with the discipline. They are not turned off by the grind, they learn from backslides and make patience their arsenal rather than a burden. They understand that large dreams are not the products of shortcuts or temporary effort but require a tranquil resoluteness which a person is ready to keep going even when the peak seems far away. Those who keep their calm and are persistent during the slow journey are not just dreamers. They become builders. Moreover, they eventually reach the point.

Excellent post and excellent reasoning. Your reflection invites us to cultivate patience as a virtue. Being slow doesn't mean being a failure. Only those who accept the fatigue of a long journey can truly build something. !LUV
