Politicians will do just about anything to win and get themselves into a higher position of power. When politicians need to become popular, they will do and say whatever they need to. In many cases I believe it is all just a bunch of false statements and nothing ever really happens. Sometimes though the greater good is in mind, and the work they do has a positive impact on the world.
I would consider the fact that politicians leveraging their support of crypto a tremendous factor for bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. In my opinion, it is a smart play by the politician who will not only gain popularity, but also pave the way for cryptos entering the global economic system. It's just a matter of time before the USA and other major countries do the same.
