Money makes the world go round. And if you're part of any civilized society you will probably come in contact with it and will most likely need it at some point of your existence. Either that or becoming a bushman that lives of the land, hunts, gathers and bathes by the river. But not many would want that I imagine. So safe to say we need money. Preferably a lot of it, that's what we're thought to believe. A lot of cash is needed to live comfortably. But how much do we really need for that?
Many think that the goal is to have an absurd amount of wealth to be happy. Modern media throws quite a bit of fuel on the fire in that regard. Some believe they need lambos, yachts and 10 million dollar mansions. While others think they need Kanye's sneakers worth at least $1000. All for the eyes of others. But even with all that, a happy comfortable life might have another definition.
We need significantly more than the amount of barely surviving, but significantly than Jeff Bezos his net worth. Probably. Although this may seem like a simple enough concept, many other emotions are at play in matters like this. Greed can rear it's ugly head. Envy maybe. Or maybe it's just the programming we've received and nothing more.
Now I'm not saying money is not important at all. But in my opinion the thing you are trying to achieve with it is what has the value. Finances are no more than a means to an end. And if the finances themselves make you happy, than by all means, have at it.
Living comfortably and feeling fulfilled in life might mean different things to different people. That means that there is no fixed right amount, and no wrong amount either. It's all relative, the amount as well as the factors surrounding it. In the end all we can really ask ourselves is: How much do I really need?

I have to agree. I just have enough to live my life and I can live without all the fancy stuff. If I can, I would rather have the freedom to choose when I work and I can do what I wish.
