Crypto is taking over the world and its penetrating and influencing our lives and decisions. Crypto came in and helped see and correct lots of flaws in our socio-economic settings. For instance letting us know that we don’t need the government and we can attain financial freedom without needing the government. Although this part is a little bit shaky in some countries because I heard that people in certain countries pay tax for their crypto.
I’m a graduate of industrial chemistry, I went through 21 years of schooling to finally get that degree and the highest money I have made with my degree was $87. I was paid this amount after spending 5 months in an environmental lab interning their. This $87 is not monthly, it’s for the 5 months spent with them, that means each month I made $17.4. If I was told when I was younger that after spending 21 years of my life in school, putting in those efforts in going to school and paying tuition fees(thanks to my Dad for that) I will end up getting paid $17.4 a month, do you think I would consider going to school?
These days we have found lots of people questioning schools and asking the reason behind school’s existence. We have a lot of people who went to school because they were forced to and some people who went to school because they thought school can save them from poverty and we have people like me that went to school because that’s the societal norm. I didn’t like school, I just grew up with the mindset that school is a must.
I learnt cryptocurrency without going to a school of crypto to learn it. I didn’t have to get a cryptocurrency degree certificate to start earning. You can literally invest in crypto today and earn today, all thanks to Defi. So why did I spend all those years in school? Because the reason I went to school was so I could get a degree good enough to find me a job and start making money. But crypto currency has saved you all that long process and takes you to earn while you learn.
A friend of mine just told me this morning that his younger brother is considering dropping out of school because he probably doesn’t see any use in trying to finish college. He is making enough money to sustain him for as long as cryptocurrency exist. So while waste your time trying to pass and get a degree you will probably not use. This has made me lose my respect in the academia. Don’t get me wrong, academics is important, they are important professions that is vital in the world. This is where we are going to need the doctors, the engineers and other professions that are essential in the society. But who would want to go to school when they can earn higher and better with cryptocurrencies.
This is where cryptocurrency will come and help the academia by creating a “Earn To Learn” opportunity. Just like we have “Play To Earn” to encourage gamers into taking part of the crypto opportunity, same thing will be applied to education. Imagine you have been earning from learning ever since you have been going to school. Oh my God!!! I can’t imagine how much I would have made for all the time I spent in school. This way it will give people more reason to want to take their education seriously. Although they are going to be people who will want to learn so they can earn, but just like play to earn, if you don’t put effort in learning how the game works and winning battles, missions or completing quest then you won’t earn. Same will be applied on education, this way genuine people that want to learn to get a degree will earn while learning and since everything will be on a blockchain it will be difficult to cheat your way into the blockchain.

You're not the only one seeing academic as something not worth doing. At times I ask myself what is the way forward.
If not for crypto, what would have happened to me? All this questions keeps coming to me everytime.
I believe before I graduate, I would have invested more on cryptocurrencies.

Jeez felt that it was modern-day slavery for 5 months with that pay.
It really pays to learn new skills especially in the crypto space now. It is saddening though that folks will just sway away on the other jobs and focus on crypto as this is now the thing now. Hopefully, we can find the balance to everything as more people are shifted into non-traditional jobs now.
I have friends that just decided to become Youtubers rather than finish a course in college because the pay is better. Till now they haven't earned a cent.

That is true! I always pitch to join Hive😂 but sad to say they are not interested as they find it "too technical" and the requirement to be active here is something that they cannot do.
