NFTs: No Scam Guide

in LeoFinance4 years ago

NFTs are gaining lots of attractions recently, FOMO is kicking into people’s mind. Lots of people are naive and want to join on the trend because it’s making a lot of money for people, who wouldn’t want to make money. I also want to join the trend but most valuable NFTs are extremely expensive and I can’t afford to risk it. I rather participate in the upcoming cheap NFTs that I can risk the money I can afford to lose. But while you are trying to join the trend it’s right to also be vigilant to avoid being scammed.

Most NFTs are stored in decentralized wallets, these decentralized wallets have what is called phrase keys that gives you access to your wallet. If any one gets hold of those phrases or keys will have full access to your wallet. Scammers will always pose as customer support personnels claiming to help you with your wallet problems. This is false as they will always enter your Dm through discord, Twitter or Twitter asking for your phrase keys to help you resolve your issues.
The real customer supports will never reach out to you first.

Avoid fake giveaway click links claiming you get NFTs when you click the link. This is another form of phishing. Usually when someone DMs you sending a clickable link to you first, you should know that the person wants to scam you. It’s too good to be true so always be vigilant and avoid them.

Your vigilance doesn’t just stop here, it is also expected to be used when minting NFTs from NFT minting platforms. For instance watch out for fake open sea collections and bundles. When an NFT gets created scammers create a complete replica of the NFT that makes it almost impossible to differentiate the real from the fake. Always try to be vigilant with the source to make sure you are minting from the actual source. Try and verify before minting.

NFT's are being faked this is the first time I heard of it.

Congratulations for the initiative in alerting about this friend! NFT is a promising technology that can have many uses besides works of art that can make our lives much easier!
