Splinterlands is offering an amazing APR on staked SPS. If you go to the official Splinterlands site and click on the SPS icon you will see that the APR is currently over 170%. No that's not a typo, Splinterlands really is given that high of an APR to players who stake their SPS tokens on the official Splinterlands site. Its likely this APR won't last long because as more SPS gets staked the lower the APR ends up being. This also works in reverse, if someone decided to unstake their SPS the APR for staked SPS could potentially increase.
What Is SPS?
SPS is the governance token for the HIVE Blockchain game Splinterlands. SPS has recently been introduced and currently there is a year long airdrop in place. The Splintershards (SPS) airdrop has been a stroke of genius. With the APR on staked tokens so high, I can't imagine anybody wanting to just cash in their SPS. But some are and when they do I snatch up a little of it when I can and the price is right. Then I stake that too.
This APR is so good that I just got called a scammer on Reddit for notifying a Crypto community about it. I can't wait to use the below quote in a future post of mine LOL.

Once they see the project and understand the Apr is that high because it's still an early investment they slap themselves in the face realising what epic chance they missed to join in this relative early stage
Yes the APR is awesome and staking makes the project more valuable, but for me personally it's all about the community. Normally I don't like games on mobile but this game really got me hooked
The Splinterlands community rocks and is its best asset.

That is quite impressive. As much as I want lower prices to accumulate more, it is finally time for Hive to reach $10+. What would this take? In my opinion, well look at the supply. If we really have another 200,000 accounts as stats suggest, there is not enough Hive for them all to power up 2000 HP. It is just not possible, therefore Hive will have to find a new price over time.
@aggroed predicted in last week's AMA that Splinterlands will have 1 million active users by the end of the year. This is the growth that one Game can bring. Imagine when a handfull of other Hive Apps start doing the same.
even when it drops to its lowest apr eventually, it will still be a great rate to earn!

Closer to/over 400 if I'm not mistaken ... but "it's only 170%" now is still madness... imagine getting "only" 170% APR from your local bank

Yes, less SPS was staked then. As more SPS gets staked the less APR one earns. The same works in reverse, if a whale decides to unstake there's potential for the APR to increase.

I am surprised that more SPS is not staked. Is the number of not staked in the 10's of millions? Do you think it will suddenly appear and be staked?

I staked some SPS from the airdrops for the first time today.
Earning SPS for playing doesn't seem like its been implemented yet or am I missing something.
