Campaign Mode

Rentmoney is gearing up to make his return to playing the Splinterlands game. Recently I been playing in other aspects of Splinterlands such as participating in the rental market/ blogging/ speculating asset price adjustments and planning a strategy to grab a bag of DEC (Dark Energy Crystals). However I haven't played Ranked battles to any meaningful degree in awhile. That isn't to say I don't enjoy a good ranked battle from time to time. I do indeed enjoy such but time restraints don't allow me to do all that can be done. However I did recently enter the CAMPAIGN mode. The intro to it and cut scene has motivated me to make time to play and that is what I intend on doing. But before I do that I want to get my hands on some FOUNDATION cards so we will be doing that today. Since I will be doing that today why not record the process on my Hive Blog. After-all anything worth doing on the Hive Blockchain is also worth blogging about.

Purchasing Using Credits

I have a small amount of credits in one of my Splinterland accounts so that is what we will use to purchase our first Foundation card. For example a 0.35 cent card would currently cost about 600 DEC to purchase. If we use credits the cost would be just 350 credits. Since Splinterlands accepts DEC at $1/1000 DEC it would be wise at current time to use credits for trades instead of DEC. Why is that you ask? Answer: that same 600 DEC is worth 0.60 cents when spent on splinterland assets purchased directly from Splinterlands. That same 0.60 USD value shifts to 0.35 cents when that same 600 DEC is spent on the marketplace. This isn't always the case as the DEC marketplace trade value fluctuates with the price of DEC on outside markets. Markets such as Tribaldex and Hive-Engine. Credits can be easily purchased on the Splinterlands site itself using Paypal. Do with this information what you will. Not financial advice. Lets take a look at the first FOUNDATION card purchased by @rentmoney and while we are at it lets take a look at its stats and lore.

Chaos Furybringer Lore

Ogres are broad-shouldered, with leathery skin often marked by warts and lesions. They’re driven more by instinct than intellect and wield whatever they can lift—makeshift clubs, jagged blades, or their own massive fists. Precision isn’t their strength, but it doesn’t need to be. Brute force and unrelenting stamina make them lethal in any brawl.

Crude, gluttonous, and aggressive, they live hard and fight harder. Few are trained in formal combat, but when enraged, they fight with a kind of chaotic efficiency, overwhelming enemies through sheer mass and fury. Underestimate them, and you won’t get a second chance.

Ogres were quick to join the Chaos Empire when its war machine breached the Splinterlands. Drawn by power, they rallied beneath the invaders’ banner and carved out a place in the empire’s ranks. Though the Chaos Empire has since fallen from power, many ogres remain loyal, dwelling in the fortress-city of Tovingor and the surrounding northern foothills of Mount Praetorous. Grand Consul Minion Lore

Lore taken directly from the official Splinterlands site.

The Gloridax Empire is an absolute monarchy, an aggregate of separate polities under the rule of the suam emperor. It has laid claim to much of the Northern Highlands and continues to expand into the Pristine Northwest and Wild Northeast, establishing settlements, garrisons, and trade routes across the frontier. Its colonies vary in law and liberty. But all serve the emperor’s will.

That will is executed by the Grand Consul, advisors and ministers whose word carries the weight of the throne. From finance to faith, each consul oversees a vital aspect of governance.

The Gloridax Empire is home to many bloodlines and races, but among the most numerous are the kobolds, who mostly function as servants and slaves. Small, industrious, and considered expendable, they labor in kitchens, workshops, and barracks across the empire. Most go unseen, forgotten the moment they scurry out of sight. But not all.

A select few are assigned as minions to the Grand Consul itself. These kobolds dart through the imperial palace at all hours, fetching scrolls, delivering messages, stamping decrees, lighting incense, and preparing chambers for council proceedings. They sweep floors, refill inkwells, polish ceremonial armor, and manage the endless logistics of court life. And their duties multiply daily. They do so much that one might think the empire would grind to a halt without them. One might be right.

Scales Of Justice Lore

Lore taken directly from the official Splinterlands site.

The scales of justice are serpentine citizens chosen by lot to serve as judicial arbiters within Sskah Den, where governance is guided by consensus rather than crown. For a time, they set aside personal pursuits as artisans, laborers, and scholars to take up the mantle of law. Service is not a burden but an honor, one earned not through ambition but entrusted by ritual.

They move with composed authority through the halls and forums of New Sskah City, their serpentine eyes faintly aglow, their staves balanced and unyielding. With calm voices and measured words, they deliver verdicts rooted in doctrine, custom, and deliberation. To question a ruling is not taboo, but it is rare.

Within the consensus, formality masks a game of influence. Though they serve the law, the scales of justice are shaped just as much by the den’s culture, where cunning often carries more weight than truth. Alliances are formed behind closed doors. Truth is a tool, not a goal. And when a verdict is spoken, it carries not just the law’s authority, but the mark of the one who mastered the path to it.

And It Begins

@rentmoney now has at least three Foundation cards but likely more. With at least two of those cards being maxed. I'm going to need and want more of these Foundation cards. I certainly plan on getting my grubby little hands on many more of them. However for the time being these three cards will do. It won't be long before I start roaming the marketplace to purchase another. I don't plan on starting the campaign mode right away so I have time to add to the collection before I do. I will tell you that I did venture through the first cut scene within CAMPAIGN mode and I must say to those who created it, well done. If you like venturing within the Splinterland universe @rentmoney highly recommends you give the Campaign mode a try. I can't speak on what adventures you might encounter as I myself only seen the first cut-scene but if that first introduction is of any indication of what is about to go down; its an adventure worth taking. Are you new to the @rentmoney blog spot. Not sure what Splinterlands is or the Hive Blockchain for that matter. No worries I always like to tag a little information about both within my created content. Redundancy is important as it helps keep new visitors to the Rentmoney blog informed. If you have any questions about Splinterlands fire away and I'll do my best to answer them in the comment section below. As always thanks for spending your time here on the @rentmoney blog. We hope to see you at our next post which should go live in a day or two and likely to be gaming related.

What Is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a #play2earn game hosted on the Hive Blockchain. Assets that have real monetary value are used to earn rewards/ more assets in a robust gaming economy. Such assets are tradable on-site or on many different secondary markets such as TribalDex and Hive-Engine. Don't have a Splinterlands account yet. Well you are in luck because I just so happen to have an ambassador code. Clicking it will start the sign up process. What is an ambassadors code? Its a code that will give me credit for your sign up at no cost to you. Here it is: https://splinterlands.com/register?ref=rentmoney Don't want to use my ambassador code (no worries) here is a direct link that will forgo any credit to me: https://splinterlands.com.

What Is The Hive Blockchain?

----------------------> As defined by @rentmoney
It's many things including but not limited to: A source for information. A host spot for many play2earn games. A place to build your own business. A place to run a blog account. A place to interact with your online friends. A place to expand your knowledge. Your imagination is the limit to what the Hive Blockchain has to offer and could be to you. Creating and curating content on the Hive Blockchain will give you the opportunity to earn the Blockchains main currencies known as Hive and HBD (Hive Backed Dollars). No financial advice has been given in this post. Do your own research before investing/ spending any of your hard earned currencies.

I thought the campaign was a cool add to Splinterlands. And I'm playing Frontier every day (along with Wild).
