I've written my own article here on Hive when I first heard about BitChat. I haven't had the luck yet to find anyone on BitChat. Also the App seems to crash regularly on my Android device. At least it needs a restart very regularly. That sucks a lot. But it is cool to see this app actually gain some traction. The concept is nice. It by far is not usable yet as it lacks a usable user-to-user chat that could for example be achieved by built-in PGP encryption. But it's not a bad start! I love the idea and hope to hear a bit mroe about it's development! :D
