As much as it pains me to say it because of the giant fees and KYC verification hoops that must be jumped through, Coinbase is a very important aspect of the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
Coinbase had a market volume of $6,817,896,440.02 in the last 24 hours with that number being slightly higher or lower on any given day. They are wildly important to the field because they are a name that people trust when first entering the field and they make it relatively easy to sign up and use their platform.
It has diluted in impact, but it is still the case that the "Coinbase effect" has an impact on what tokens some people trust to invest in. If it is listed on Coinbase, there must be some degree of trust established if such a big group is willing to risk their reputation on it's validity; this is a thought process that permeates through the cryptocurrency world daily.
Coinbase has markets for dozens of coins, including some really obscure one's, but is lacking one obvious one... HIVE!
You can go on Coinbase right now and trade: Shiba Inu, Clover Finance, Fetch.ai, BarnBridge, Rally, SKALE, and more lesser known coins, but there is no trace of our beloved Hive token... Why?
To be honest I don't really know. I can't find a good reason as to why Coinbase wouldn't list our token. We have listings on Binance and ProBit along with some other exchanges, it does not really make sense that we aren't on Coinbase.
As much as many on this platform dislike Centralized Exchanges, it has to be noted that reputation matters a lot in this industry with all of the scams and rug pulls that are happening. By being listed on Coinbase, Hive would improve it's reputation and improve awareness about what it is that we do here. I urge some witnesses and larger stakeholders to try to get us listed on Coinbase. Even if it isn't where we want to be in the future, it may help us in the present to grow into what we want to be!
I'm interested in hearing thoughts on why we aren't on Coinbase? Is there some conspiracy that I don't know about that is suppressing Hive's popularity?

Unfortunately I think one of our biggest strengths, our decentralized nature, is what is working against us getting listed on Coinbase.
You're probably right, but I'm still surprised the token itself isn't being listed, there is a demand for it.
Well I think it won't list it because there isn't enough hype in the news about it. Eventually when HIVE becomes big enough, we can probably expect it to get listed.

There can't be that much hype about half their tokens, I haven't heard of some at all outside of Coinbase...

Hive is still flying under the radar. We just have to weather the storm for a little while longer. They will not be able to ignore us forever.

I have to think it is inevitable, we have a rapidly growing userbase
