So should you invest in college, crypto, or the stock market? In this video, I talk about my own journey and give some advice to those up and coming next generations.

Spoiler: do all four (working is the fourth one I added).

For me these three are equally important

Agree, and all three can be done together.

Yeah exactly

This is quite true and I look at me with an Informatics Economics degree and my earnings versus the ones that are having a normal job and I think that there is a real gap in between these of two. You are opened to new opportunities and simply to a new financial world that is not accessible to anyone. Thus, I think that education brings you some benefits that you don't realize in the early years.

Nobody can ever take away knowledge gained in college...I think the goal of college is to teach one how to think, what they do after that is one's own decision to make.

@behiver You've got the right idea! In the end it is all in what you decide to do with your degree and your education that is going to decide how much you are able to earn and that same planning skill is required in your investment strategy. What would be AMAZING is having some sort of investing education as a part of required learning in school.

To being with it depends on what you are after. For example, if you wanna be a teacher then college is the only way!

But because the article was on a forex site i'll exclude that option! :P

Now in terms of making money there so many different pipelines. There are YouTubers who simply uploaded their grandpas and became millionaires or even dog profiles on Instagram with millions of views.

I think everyone should read about each of these 3 options do somehow a "free trial" and decide. I know we are talking about later, as to what it will provide him more income, but it really depends on his hard work, on what he likes even outside factors like lady luck!

Agree, it's an exercise of exploration...I'm sure if I told my younger self what to do, he wouldn't listen to my older self:)

You might not want to have a traditional 9-to-5 job for your entire life, but it will be your biggest invest power at the beginning. Don’t spend too much and keep saving/investing in a diversified portfolio. Don’t invest blindly in stocks (or anywhere else) and try to learn about markets cycles. I would recommend to read the intelligent investor from Benjamin Graham as it’s a pure gem for your personal finance. Good luck !

@hykes all gems, yeah...I heard about that book by Benjamin, will put it on my to do list.

@rollandthomas Great review of the importance of knowing which investment to make first! Anyone of these can make you rich when leveraged properly by the motivated individual!

It wouldn't be me if I didn't mention my 2 favorite income producing asset classes which are owning a Business and owning Real Estate, lol. I know these 2 can be a little more work, but in the end they also allow you to invest in stocks and crypto with more consistent liquidity!

@gualteramarelo thanks bro...I just came across an amazing quote on twitter...it reads work hard at your job, you will make a good living...work hard at investing in yourself, you will make a fortune.

The three types of investments are important and can be made at the same time.

I started investing in stocks 10 years back and stopped doing it once I entered in crypto. I do only crypto investment and happy with this. The only rule I follow to invest for the long term so out of these 3 only crypto is for me.

Invest in your self is important more then buy crypto health is wealth.
Give important to your self because you are so important to all this temporary things.

I'm surprised those stats are still holding true today - for the relationship between education and improved earnings. There is, as you say, a massive difference depending on what degree you do with a huge positive income bias in favour of the STEM subjects, unsurprisingly.

I think the professional trading world is, for the most part, full of people who think they are better than they are, hothoused and hence the dismal performance.

Whereas there are a minority who just keep their heads down and can give themselves an edge.

I agree with not going into debt to get an education - can you believe that I got my degree completely free, the government even payed living expenses for 4 years. I got in a few years before it became loan based.

Starting out with debt, what a miserable trap! I always used to strongly advise my students to have a good look at apprenticeships - there are some damn good ones out there in the engineering sector for example! And you end up with a degree level education after a few years, debt free and work experience - you'd be in a much better position by the time you were 22.

I agree with all three.
I also agree with science major, although I am trying to get my kids to take SQL and Blockchain certification courses.

Junior College
I really think the junior college route is an often overlooked financial gem.
I recommend it to kids now, catch a little heat for suggesting that there's no shame in saving money, and sending your kids to a more expensive four year college instead of two and two is not teaching them the value of money.

Lastly
I think that working during college is priceless. There's nothing like mowing grass, pulling weeds, mopping floors and moving furniture to help you see the wisdom of your parents encouragement to go to college. Plus earning your own money increases your awareness of your parents contributions to paying for your education.

Good Post.
