Hello Everyone! Hope everyone is doing amazing.
In this post, I will be sharing some of my small habits that actually help me save money.
Saving money always sounded like a big complicated thing to me. For a long time I believed you needed a high salary, some complicated investment strategy, or extreme discipline to actually save anything meaningful. But over time I slowly realized something very different.
Most progress actually comes from small habits, not big financial decisions.
When I started paying attention to my daily behavior, I noticed that money usually disappears through very small actions. Buying something here, paying for something there, ordering something online late at night⦠and suddenly the month ends and you wonder where everything went.

One of the first habits that helped me save money was simply tracking where my money goes.
Before I started doing this, I honestly had no clear idea about my spending. I would just use money whenever I needed something and not really think about it.
Then one day I decided to write down my expenses for a week.
The first thing I noticed was that I was spending a lot on was video games. I used to play quite a lot of games and I also bought a lot. The problem here was, I jumped from one game to another game without finishing the former. Then one day I decided to take it slow. I started to finish a game first and then buy another game. This way had helped me quite a lot because now I could completely finish a game before buying another one, and completely finishing a game took quite some time because the games are too big nowadays.

One habit that helped me is waiting before buying things sometimes when you see something online or in a shop you feel like you need it. But that feeling is usually temporary. So I started giving myself some time before buying anything unnecessary like the time I almost bought 20 volumes of manga at once. It cost 20,000 PKR (around 70 USD). 20,000 PKR is ALOT of money for me. I do not know how but somehow I managed to take a control on myself and stopped myself from buying it.
At that moment it felt like I really needed it. But after waiting a day or two and thinking about it more calmly, I realized it wasnβt actually that important.
So I didnβt buy it. And honestly, I never missed it later.

Saving small amounts consistently really helped me even though I used to think it meant putting aside a big amount every month. That idea made saving feel difficult , stressful. So I began saving amounts, 100 PKR a day or sometimes 200 PKR a day, and first it seemed like not much. After some time, those savings started adding up. The benefit was not the amount. The habit was created.

So impulse spending is something many people struggle with and I am not an exception I noticed that many impulse purchases happen when I am bored or just scrolling social media and something catches my eye so I buy it immediately. I recognized that pattern. I started trying tricks. I tried to stop myself. So sometimes I close the app, go for a walk, or distract myself with something else and those minutes stop unnecessary spending.

This habit is more about mindset than money.
Sometimes we buy things simply because we feel like we need something new. But when I started paying attention to it, I realized I already had many things that were perfectly fine.
There was a time when I thought I needed a new phone. But after thinking about it more carefully, I realized what I already had was enough.
Skipping purchases like that might seem small, but these decisions add up over time.

Saving money does not always require dramatic lifestyle changes, in many cases it is about small daily habits. Tracking spending. Waiting before buying something. saves small amounts regularly. Avoid impulse purchases &, appreciate what you already have. None of these habits are complicated. They change the way you think about money over time. I'm still learning. I still make mistakes. I spend money on things I did not need. These little habits made me pay more attention to how I handled money and think before spending it, which over time actually changed things for the better. Because in the end, saves money is in addition to about numbers. Itβs about building better habits, one small step at a time.
