Today I am going to be talking about how and why Splinterlands is one of the strongest and best play to earn game right now.
When we talk about the play to earn games, most people talk about the games that started and immediately got instant hype. However those games got really famous for some months but died after that. It is mostly because the developers and the company could not control and manage the game financially or the gameplay just got really bad. But to be honest, Splinterlands is different from there. Splinterlands has maintained their place in the play to earn world for a long time now and it is still going pretty strong. But it is not just pure fluke, because the gaming world is really sensitive. If a game is not performing well then it will go down really fast. So there is a reason that Splinterlands is maintaining it's position even when the crypto market is in it's worst.
One of the main reasons that Splinterlands is doing really well is that it runs on HIve which is one of the fastest blockchains. Most people do not realize this but the Hive blockchain has zero transaction fees and it is really fast. Not only that, it also has a really strong community with decentralized governance. Most play to earn games suffer that runs on other crypto coins suffer from issues like fee issues or the transactions being really slow. Here, you can buy, sell and rent cards really fast with no fees at all.
Other reason is that the cards used in this game are not just for showpiece and decoration. Every card has it's levels, stats, abilities and synergies which helps the card gain even more value than it's original market value. Most play to earn games make NFT cards that has no other purpose other than just flipping them. But Splinterlands is not like them. Here the cards are used in real battles, they can be rented out for passive income, can be leveled up by combining duplicate cards to increase it's value (have different prices based on it's level and rarity) and they can also get burned for DEC (Dark Energy Crystals). This creates a whole another level of excitement because you can collect cards not only for collection purposes, you collect them because you want to win your battles and increase your earning.
Most people misunderstand this game and think that it is just another card game where you only collect them and wait till it's price rises. Well, it is much more than that. The gameplay is actually pretty good and really fun. It's not easy because you have to really think about your units before starting the battle with them. Each battle has a ruleset, a manacap, sometimes only specific elements are allowed, lineup strategy and different synergies between abilities. It's basically a complete strategy game where you do not just because you have powerful and expensive cards, you win because you know how each of your cards works best with another one.
You do not need BIG INVESTMENT
One of the best things about Splinterlands is that you do not really need big investment to play and earn from the game. Many players buy really expensive cards but their earning is still not that good compared to the price they pay. To actually earn daily and consistently, you first need to understand the actual gameplay mechanics of the game. More wins means more rewards. In this case, renting cards is the best option. You can invest really low (even 10$ works) and you can build a very strong team just by renting them at a really low price. The formula is easy, rent cards, win battles, earn rewards. There are many ways that you can earn rewards consistently. Through daily chests, season chests, SPS from ranked battles, SPS from staking, renting out cards and market profit from selling cards.
One more reason that this game is ongoing is that the devs keep adding new things to keep the game alive. Those things include new cards, new abilities, new reward systems and seasonal updates.

In Conclusion, Splinterlands is not the biggest game out there, but it stands really tall among play to earn games. The gameplay mechanics, buying/selling and renting of cards and the seasonal updates, all is combined really well. These are the reasons that this game is still played and maintaining it's position all around the world.
