It's a very interesting idea, @jongolson. I have two main thoughts on the matter.
It is odd that we as a censor-free, web3 platform are thinking of using a traditional centralised, and most definitely censored platform like Twitter (or Instagram, or You Tube, take your pick) to grow our business.
Influencers use a platform for a reason. Most are paid for the "job" of being an influencer on a particular platform. The censored and centralised platform that we are looking to to grow our business.
What can we give the influencer in return though? Given that we are looking to the influencer to grow our business we obviously do not have the reach to do it on our own. Are we prepared to pay the influencer?

I dont think we are trying to 'grow' on Twitter. It's more leveraging their reach and pull to help grow Hive. It's a fishing analogy...We have to go fish, where the fish are biting.
