Quantum computer, the end to crypto wallets?

in LeoFinance3 years ago

A calculation solved in 200 seconds by a quantom computer was estimated to take up to 10 000 years to solve for a high end pc. In theory a quantom computer could use the public key to crack the private key in no time.

-Quantum physics describes the behavior of atoms, and fundamental particles like electrons and photons. A quantum computer operates by controlling the behavior of these particles. Bits are the smallest units of information in traditional computers. Quantum computers use qubits, which can also be set simultaneously to one of two values, providing superior computing power. To visualize the difference, think of flipping a coin versus spinning it. This unpredictability is called superposition, which can be measured by electron motion and direction. Unlike bits, qubits are manipulated using quantum mechanics for data transfers, and not for data storage.

I'm new here on leofinance. I apologies for not giving credit on the "copied" parts of the post, won't happen again!

I was wondering about that. Could the computer try all the combinations of the Mnemonic seed to transfer a wallet to its own cubit server space. Rendering these crypto wallets bilked missing, gone like a pickpocket gypo on the streets of Rome. What did you think.

There's still a lot of development in need to even run a simple script on a quantum computer. Just to make a quantum computer to run you need helium too cool it down to the exact temperature. That being said we'll have a great protection for quantum attacks long before we'll see any attacks against crypto wallets! :)

For what that I heard the computers are a lot more advanced then we are lead to believe. What do you mean about protection from the black boxes? How so?

What i mean by protection from quantum attacks? In the future we'll see new hash-systems that's much more secure than our hash-system we're using nowdays.

Yes as the rate of quantum computers expand and pull much further ahead, how shall the average individual protect against old world technology?

If you want to have more success on Leofinance, it is suggested that you write more than just a paragraph or two.
