A few days ago, as I started getting more and more into Bitcoin Lightning Network, I decided to try to setup a node with my old 8Gb Raspberry Pi4.

After going over some videos and checking the different options I decided to try to install Umbrel OS which has a pretty nice UX, an App store and several BTC Apps beside the core Node. The first issue I encountered was Umbrel was offering its OS for the Raspberry Pi5 and it was not easy to try to find a release for the Pi4 version. I ended up downloading several versions of the OS image file and flashing it into the SD card without success. Finally I decided to try the OS for the Pi5 version and it worked out.

I had some issues connecting locally from my Mac as the the computer was losing the connection, finally using Firefox web browser ended that issue and I decided to download BTC Node App and start the entire Blockchain database syncing.

Soon I realized the database was being copied on the 128 Gb flash card instead of the 4 Tb hard drive and could not find a way to change that setting. It was a pity as I was playing with some of the Apps and they were quite interesting.
I even managed to access Umbrel remotely from my cellphone using Tor. Here's the video I was following during the setup process.
After realizing I would not be able to hold all the database in the 128 Gb flash card, I decided to try a different option and repeated the process with MyNode Bitcoin Software following this other video.
After downloading the OS image the first thing I had to do was format the hard drive

And once finished, I started downloading the Bitcoin Blockchain Database. After 4 hrs I am almost at 9% so hopefully I might be able to finish the process in a couple of days if the node keeps running.

I will post how the process is going and the final stage where I plan to link Sparrow Wallet directly to the node and setup a lightning channel.
