RE: Leo Talk 5/9/21 - Come Join Our Chat (Part 1)

Does anyone want to talk about Proof-of-Capacity cryptocurrency mining, like BURST (Burstcoin) or the upcoming BTCHD (Bitcoin Hard Drive)? 🤔 I really can't find other comments here to reply to. 😅

Please take note that Burstcoin is different from Filecoin, Siacoin, Storj, etc., such that the latter cryptocurrencies are derived from Proof-of-Storage mining, where you need to prove that actual data is both stored and available (more than 98% uptime) for downloading. That means even if you have 100 TB dedicated to mining, you won't earn Proof-of-Capacity coins unless other nodes have chosen yours to have a copy of their redundant (encrypted) data (shards) stored. 🕵️‍♂️😏

I don't bother with things like that. Are you taking part in it and is it profitable?

It looks like cryptocurrency mining (that does not talk about profits from mining) is not talked about on LeoFinance. 🤔😐

Regarding profit, I don't think they are profitable (right now), but miners mine them mostly for fun. 🕵️‍♂️🤔

I don't think many people do but chronocrypto who runs the UTOPIS project does talk about his ETH mining earnings. He sells the ETH for fiat and then converts it into HIVE to pay dividends.
