Many of you may know that Splinterlands is a game on the HIve blockchain. I am not going to write about how to play the game which I have done so before. You may check it out or the other numerous posts, written about it on a daily basis.
A few months ago, the 'land' update came about and it required huge investments and some of the players simply quit the game and sold their cards.
Mistake number one.
The lands are a sell-out but no one expected the untamed edition to sell out even more quickly. People were struggling in real-time to bring in funds and buy the packs before the store ran out. Apart from that, the price of not only legendary cards like Yodin Zaku and Byzantine Kitty shot up, but even the common summoners and card prices also soared. It is still up and rising.
Why was it a mistake to sell the deck?
The airdrop of the Splintershards token for those who hold Splinterlands assets played a great role in causing the 'fomo' and before you could say ABC, people grabbed whatever they could and are hodling it. So, those who sold their cards will not get any tokens either besides losing out on the great prices too.
The arrival of the new players is also something that we are witnessing and many of them are serious enough and are investing quickly which has helped in the price rise.
Splinterlands is a game that changed the path for the blockchain and made it very worthwhile.

Splinterlands is proving to be a great investment as well as being a good game.
I've sold some gold cards in the past and it's better that I don't think about it :)
I've tried several blockchain based games from other blockchains as well but so far I haven't found any game as good and with the potential as Splinterlands.

Yes, indeed. Even other Hive based games are sort of dwindling maybe. As for gold cards, I better not think about those gold chickens I sold for 3$. Thanks.
