The network was congested all day today and the fees high. Someone said they are also going to be down for a long maintenance.

When the network is congested, fees go high to speed up the transaction?

My transactions are taking longer than usual.

I noticed this too. Maybe that is why it took me like 10-15 minutes to complete my transactions.
