That's how regular video games worked. The rewards only had value in the game. People were willing to put in the time to get them, but it didn't matter, because they were stuck in the game and you couldn't sell or move them.

The entire reason I chose Splinterlands is because I didn't want a "regular" video game.

Exactly. I hope they notice how much people are saying they hate the idea. Whatever problem they're trying to solve, they need to think of a different solution.
