I think this is a very well articulated paper on Ethereum using a gold to oil comparison linked to a Bitcoin Ethereum comparison. I agree Ethereum is going to grow and I am unsure of the extent, but hope you are right.
Additionally, I think you are correct that ETH 2.0 the second chain will be faster and cheaper then ETH 1.0 as it is POS, and all that entails in the ETH version of POS. Second while we in cryptocurrency feel gas fees are high, other investors coming from the legacy banking world are ise to paying high fees to move money and close deals, so I think they will not ne disuaded from using ETH 1.0, while smaller investors will be encouraged to use EYH 2.0. And when the main-net and the second layer merge in the future all will benefit.
