Did you migrate from Old Staked Leo to New Staked Leo?

For many months, the original LEO staking contract on LeoDex served the community well.
It was the dependable foundation—the robust, if slightly vintage, workhorse that rewarded early believers with steady yields.
This "Old Leo Staking" contract was a symbol of the platform's initial success.
However, as the broader DeFi landscape raced forward, so too did the ambitions of the LeoDex development team.
The original smart contract, built on the platform's early architecture, was limiting.
It wasn't as gas-efficient as newer protocols, and crucially, it didn't have the architecture to support the exciting new features planned—things like enhanced governance voting and more flexible reward cycles.
The Call to Action
The team announced the mandatory shift to the New Leo Staking Contract not as a bug fix, but as a critical upgrade for security and scalability.
The message was clear: to secure LEO’s long-term future and participate in the next generation of features, staked tokens needed to move.
The process, affectionately dubbed "The Great Migration," was designed to be straightforward, though absolutely essential. Users couldn't simply wait; the old contract was sunsetting.
The migration required three simple, high-conviction steps from every loyal LEO staker:
Unstake from the Old Contract: Users navigated to the old staking interface and initiated the standard unstaking process, a necessary step to withdraw the principal from the outdated logic.
Claim and Approve: Once the unbonding period was complete, the LEO tokens were claimed back into the user’s wallet. From there, they had to grant approval for the tokens to be moved into the new smart contract's custody.
Restake on the New Platform: The final, decisive step was staking the tokens into the newly audited, feature-rich contract.
A Stronger Foundation
The completion of the migration marked a significant triumph. The New Leo Staking Contract wasn't just a copy-paste job; it was a highly optimized engine. It immediately offered:
Improved Security:
The new contract benefited from fresh audits and updated security standards, fortifying LEO holders against emerging vulnerabilities.
Enhanced Efficiency:
Users experienced slightly lower network fees when staking and claiming rewards, making participation cheaper and faster.
Feature Unlock:
The new architecture was ready to support dynamic tokenomics, preparing the ground for upcoming governance features and more complex rewards mechanisms designed to incentivize long-term holding.
The migration proved that the LeoDex community was active and engaged. It wasn't a moment of panic, but a collective show of faith in the platform’s future. The journey from the old contract’s reliable simplicity to the new contract’s feature-rich sophistication secured LEO's place as an evolving, next-generation DeFi asset.
The move
I migrated with my COntrol Wallet, and it was very easy and took about 4 minutes.
I signed in to leodex by connecting my wallet
I was immediately met with a Yello message that I had staked Leo in the Old contract, and I should move it over to the new one.
I clicked a button, and a box opened with four lines/commands.
I clicked each one in succession, and a window near the bottom annunced the completion of each step and then I clicked the next button.
Four minutes later, I was done. My Leo now safely staked and earning USDC.
Shout out to @khaleelkazi and his team for making it so easy.
Shout out to @onealfa for this thread reminding everyone to migrate!
Thanks
