Did I tell you that time really just flies by so fast? It seems like I said that phrase every month to @elizabetbit and @silvertop, and here we are at the end of the year!
Every year, Apmex sends a Holiday Gift Guide. It pretty substantial, using cardstock paper.
It is really neat... you can check out the photos in the holiday catalog for things of interest without having to search their online store, where they have thousands of products.
It has a diameter of 40mm, the same as the American Silver Eagle. Only a few coins, like Korean Silver Chiwoo Cheonwang series and the Australian Swan series, can say the same.
And there it is, my Christmas wish for Day 1.
2024 Vanuatu 1 oz Silver Year of the Dragon
This was minted by the Muenzhandelsgesellschaft mbH & Co KG Deutsche Muenze, the MDM Mint for short. It is one of the pioneers in supplying the numismatic community with distinctive coins. It is also one of the largest international mints and is one of the world market leaders for Precious Metal collectibles.
MDM Muenzhandelsgesellschaft mbH & Co KG Deutsche Muenze provides retail sale of historical coins. The Company offers antique, silver, and gold coins, and coins of different countries and empires. MDM Muenzhandelsgesellschaft operates in Germany.
Coin Highlights:

On most of Vanuatu’s islands, unpaved roads link coastal settlements; there are few interior roads. Interisland transportation is by boat or airplane. Major airports are located near Port-Vila, near Luganville on Espiritu Santo, and on the northwest side of Tanna. Many smaller airfields are scattered throughout the islands.
During the last five years, the number of mints manufacturing silver and gold coins on behalf of small countries has increased. It makes one wonder how much of the money made on the coins goes back to these small countries.

Vanuatu sounds like a nice warm place to get away from it all. Not a lot of emenities but isn't that the reason for getting away from it all, roughing it out a bit? One of many little Island republics we have been seeing putting out such a wide variety of legal tender silver coinage is exciting even if the reverse featuring things that have not much to do with their own history, culture or natural treasures.
